Vacuums For People with Pets that Shed

People with dogs, cats, and any other pet that sheds often go through vacuums much quicker than others, the machines just don't hold up. The primary reason this happens is because no matter how effective a vacuum is, pet (as well as human) hairs will accumulate around the machines brush roller. Then, as hairs clog and disrupt the bearings, the roller starts to drastically slow down and create friction. The motor has to work much harder to make that roller turn until it eventually burns out way before it's intended life span. The other possible effect is that the friction from the brush roller will be so bad the heat will begin to warp the plastic on the bottom plate or roller housing. Vacuum cleaners especially suited for people with pet hair problems must be built tough, and should have one of the following: First, a cog belt with teeth which is different from traditional flat vacuum belts. Flat belts break, cog belts almost always last for the life of the machine. Cog belts enable the machine to automatically shut off when too much tension is felt from the roller, like in a jam or when something is restricting it's movement. A vacuum built with pet hairs in mind will also have easy access to the brush roller, because it will make your machine last much longer if you manually cut off the accumulated hairs every year(or less). Like any other machine, maintenance can add many additional years of use, giving you the most for your money.
