Vacuums with Cog Belts

If you have pets, long hair, fringed carpets, or just don't ever want to deal with breaking belts again, we strongly suggest going with a vacuum that uses a cog belt. Most vacuums use traditional flat belts which can break as often as every few months. Cog belts have teeth and almost never break during the entire life of the machine. Cog belts are usually put into machines that have an automatic shut-off mechanism for when the brush jams or slows due to accumulated hairs or carpet fringes. This is a very important feature because the most important thing that can die on vacuum is the motor, and the number one killer of motors is a result of the brush rollers getting jammed up from those loose hairs that make the motor work much harder to turn it. Most manufacturers use the flat belts purposely so they will break instead of burning out the motor, which usually works. But with a cog belt the machine just turns off and lets you know it's time to cut off those hairs. A cog belt is always the sign of a very well built vacuum cleaner.
